High school graduates and applicants who can demonstrate ability to benefit from the coursework are admitted to the college.  During the application process, applicants should submit high school transcripts, GED scores, transcripts for previous college coursework and other documents.  SAT and ACT scores are not required but may be useful.  The Accuplacer test for writing, mathematics, and reading is required for new students enrolling in credit bearing programs.  Applicants for whom English is not the first language must submit scores from the TOEFL exam.

Certificate programs as well as degree and transfer degree programs are offered in a wide variety of subject areas.  The nursing program offers an LPN to RN program in addition to the traditional Associate degree of Applied Science.  Students who complete either program are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam for licensing as a Registered Nurse.  Applicants to the nursing programs must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  The Testing Center offers the ATI TEAS exam which is required for admission to the program.  For those interested in Education majors, the college offers both degree (Associate in Applied Science) and certificate programs in Early Childhood Education.  Associate in Arts transfer degrees are available in Elementary and Secondary Education as well as Early Childhood and Special Education.  Students should be aware of requirements for transferring to a four-year institution as acceptance is competitive.  Certain SAT, ACT, or TAPP scores may be necessary to qualify for admission to bachelor’s programs in education fields.
