What is Saint Paul College known for?

Saint Paul College is one of the community colleges within the Minnesota State Colleges and University System.  The college has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to award associate degrees, certificates, and diplomas.  In the 2018 school year, enrollment reached 14,969 students.  Of that, 10,004 students were enrolled in credit programs and 4,965 students were enrolled in non-credit programs. 

Anyone who is at least 16 years old who has a high school diploma or GED or demonstrates the ability to benefit may apply to the college.  Entering students should send their high school transcripts or GED scores to the college with their application.  SAT and ACT scores are not required but may enable students to be exempt from placement testing.  The college administers the Accuplacer tests in Reading, Mathematics, and Writing for placement purposes.  Scores on the AP test may also apply to placement test exemptions.  Students applying from foreign countries should submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. 

Over fifty associate degree programs and over seventy career and certificate programs are offered at the college.  Associate of Applied Science and transfer Associate of Science degrees are available in a variety of business-related fields including management and accounting.  The Health Sciences Broad Field Associate of Science Degree is a program that awards a transfer degree to students who are interested in the health sciences but have not yet decided on a specific course of study.  Also available are certificate and diploma programs such as Practical Nursing.  Pathways and partnerships are available for transfer programs such as the Culinology program with Southwest Minnesota State University in which students earn an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts.
