Approved by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Molloy College is a private college in Long Island affiliated with the Catholic Church.  The college offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.  The student enrollment in 2018 was about 4,980.

Admission to the college requires a high school diploma or equivalency.  The school recommends 20.5 high school credits including 4 years of English and Social Studies, 3 years of math and science, and 3 years of foreign language.  The average GPA of students who have enrolled at the college is approximately 3.0, the average SAT composite score is about 1143, and the average ACT composite score is 24.  All admitted students who are not native English speakers will be given an English placement test.  Students whose SAT or ACT scores are below a certain score are required to take a mathematics placement test and/or enroll in a special course for English.  Applicants for graduate level programs should submit scores from either the GRE exam or the GMAT test.

The college consists of four schools.  There is a School of Arts and Sciences.  The School of Business offers both graduate and undergraduate programs.  The business programs include finance, accounting, management, and marketing.  The graduate school of business has several MBA programs.   The School of Education, and Human Services offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the field of Education.  Students begin preparing for state teacher certification in childhood education, early childhood education, adolescent education, or special education.  The college also offers a program for teachers who already hold a certificate to become certified in a special teaching area in New York, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).  The Barbara H. Hagan School of Nursing offers both undergraduate and graduate level nursing degrees.  The school also accepts students who hold an Associate degree in Nursing and are licensed as registered nurses and want to earn a bachelor’s degree.  Admission to the undergraduate nursing program requires additional criteria.
