In college, the following courses come before Pre-Calculus: Pre-Algebra, Introductory Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra. In high school, the courses that come before Pre-Calculus are Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.
Pre-Calculus is not hard if you have the necessary background. In other words, if you did well in Algebra and Geometry, Pre-Calculus won’t be hard. If you didn’t do well, however, or if you haven’t been in school for a long time, then you’ll want to spend some time preparing for Pre-Calculus before starting the course.
Some students are able to place all the way into Calculus with our Pre-Calculus Readiness course. However, the course is designed to place you into Pre-Calculus, so placing into Calculus is strictly a bonus.
Very useful in terms of foundational knowledge. Helped a lot when taking my math placement in order to get into precalculus.Latorre Vargas - August 2024
I increased my score on the placement test allowing me to enter Calculus 1.Lisa Craig - July 2024
I tested into Precal! Thank you!Hannah Scheib - January 2024
