Although it started as a two-year, or junior college, Valencia College is now a four-year college awarding bachelor’s as well as associate degrees. The institution is accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges and is located in Orlando, Florida. The college has six campuses in both Orange and Osceola counties. Campuses include East Campus, Osceola Campus, West Campus, Winter Park Campus, Lake Nona Campus, and Poinciana Campus. The college partners with the University of Central Florida through the DirectConnect program which guarantees acceptance of students who to transfer to the university.

A high school diploma or GED is required for admission to the college. For students enrolling in bachelor’s programs, the PERT exam may be required for placement. You may be exempt from PERT if you have qualifying SAT, CPT, or ACT scores.

International Students must show proficiency with the English language. For this purpose, Accuplacer ESL (LOEP) is offered at the testing center. However, TOEFL or IELTS scores are also accepted as documentation. The School of Public Safety offers programs in Safety and Security, Fire rescue, and Criminal Justice. The CJBAT exam is administered at the college and is required of students enrolling in some of the public safety programs. Students entering most of the programs in the Health Sciences are required to take the TEAS exam for enrollment. Additionally, a college GPA of 3.0 is required for students entering the nursing programs. Students wanting to enroll in the Educator Preparation Institute must submit a passing score on the FTCE Basic Skills General Knowledge Exam.
