Like several other member schools within the Florida College System, FSCJ, or Florida State College at Jacksonville, is referred to as a state college because of its generous offering of four-year bachelor’s degree programs; however, it also has a number of two-year programs. Its programs are made available to 49,721 students in the First Coast region through four main campuses: North, South, Downtown, and Kent; as well as various centers, including Cecil, Deerwood, and Nassau.
With programs ranging from certificates and A.A./A.S. degrees all of the way to B.S. degrees, admission requirements vary. Nevertheless, all new students must provide scores for one of four placement assessments: ACT, CPT, PERT, SAT. Additionally, adult education students will be placed according to scores received on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
Specific programs may necessitate other tests, such as the Criminal Justice Basic Ability Test (CJBAT). RN, LPN to RN Bridge, LPN and Dental Hygiene program applicants must take the HESI A2, whereas applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) must already possess an RN and 60 transferable credit hours with a GPA of at least 2.0.
