I honestly have only good things to say about the experience! I was aiming for anywhere above 61 on my ALEKS test and scored a 64. I found it really helpful to have practice questions and quiz questions so the user has a feedback loop on their progress and confidence in the topic. Also, the ability to toggle between the practice/quiz questions and the associated lecture if you get a question wrong was very helpful. I passed the PRAXIS with the help of your program. I really liked the break out of each section and the grades it showed of my test while working through it. I really like the practice test questions with instant feedback if I got the answer correct or not. I loved your teaching throughout this program! Thank you for all the hard work you put into compiling and teaching such a stream-lined curriculum. I only needed to test into MAT142 at Arizona State University to continue my education but it’s been 15 years since my last math course and as a nurse, I use some basic math for drug dosage calculations or area under the curve for chemotherapy calculations but this program was a great refresher for everything in between. I had super limited time to view the program, so I had to skip some on the more advanced trig, calculus and statistics sections and go ahead and take the ALEKS test so I could enroll for spring semester but I was able to test in to the math class I needed, so I consider it a success. I wouldn’t have felt anywhere near as confident going in if I hadn’t completed the program first.

I definitely think every section was very well thought out. The practice questions and the test questions were a definite bonus. It gave me plenty of chances to try out problems without guidance and the ability to review the written out solution for each answer was phenomenal. I was also grateful for the ability to skip around, to see my progress and scores and to be able to speed up the audio for each section. The reminders and pointing out the common mistakes that students make was a great touch! It made me think about what could trip me up later on and those little tidbits will stick with me.

I sincerely appreciate your help and I may be back later on if my course doesn’t provide the caliber of teaching that this program did.

The ALEKS test went as well as it could for somebody that’s been out of the classroom for 25 years. The MathHelp site actually helped me a ton to prep. It was great how there were the explanation videos which were really good and then the practice and then the quizzes. I liked how if she already knew something we could skip right to the quiz part and if she was struggling with something we could watch the explanations a couple times and then see the practice problems worked. I'm 47 and recently needed to use your site in order to get a training grant for an IT certification. I did well on the CASA exam today - not a perfect score or anything but I passed comfortably. I like how each module is set up. Watch the video, work on practice problems or bonus if necessary and then do the test. I would have loved something like this in grammar or high school. Don’t settle for quick help that won’t move the needle. What is ALEKS?

The ALEKS math assessment is an adaptive program that is delivered online and uses artificial intelligence to identify the exact areas where students need help based on their answers to open-response questions.

How does the ALEKS program work?

The ALEKS quickly assesses the student’s knowledge of a course by using just 20 to 30 questions in most cases. The reason the ALEKS works so well in such a short period of time (45 minutes or so) is that it adapts to the student’s responses. In other words, each question is based on the student’s answers to all of the previous questions.

How do I pass the ALEKS placement test?

Here are five tips you can use to do well enough to pass the ALEKS math test:

Don’t do the problems in your head – use pencil and paper.
Do use a calculator when available – some questions allow it.
Don’t go into the test cold – refresh your skills beforehand.
Don’t rush – you have a full 24 hours to complete the ALEKS test.
Do answer every question – there is no penalty for a wrong answer.

How many questions are on the ALEKS test?

The ALEKS test is composed of 20 to 35 questions. The questions are open-response and the test is adaptive, meaning that each question is based on the student’s answer to the previous question. It usually takes about 45 minutes to complete the test.

Is the ALEKS placement test hard?

The ALEKS placement test is hard because it’s adaptive. In other words, the more questions you answer correctly, the harder the questions become. Therefore, you’ll always be pushed to the limits of your knowledge. Another reason the ALEKS test is hard is that it’s designed to place you into any math course all the way up to Calculus, so the questions can become quite difficult if you continue to get the answers right. Using Online Tutoring will help ensure you can easily pass ALEKS math.

What is a good ALEKS test score?

An ALEKS test score of 30 or more is considered good because it means you’re ready for college math. If you want to place into Calculus, however, you’ll need an ALEKS math score of at least 75.

Can I take the ALEKS test at home?

Yes, you can take the ALEKS test at home, and most students prefer to do so. The convenience of taking the test at home is one of the great advantages of the ALEKS compared to other placement tests that require you to take the test in person at a testing center.

What is the ALEKS Test?

ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces) is an online tutoring and assessment program that includes course material in mathematics, chemistry, introductory statistics, and business.
